Don't Forget to Wipe

You Guys Buy Records?

Former Sunday World Records employee Rory Borealus is ON THE AIR again this Sunday at 7PM.

In fact, about the entire WR staff will be in the listening audience, as well as a customer or two.  Except for Bud.  He’ll probably be down at Uncle Bo’s dancing to the sweet sounds that Robin Williams is putting down.

For those out of the loop, World Records was a little record store whose prime years were at 6th and Washburn in Rory’s home town.  It opened in 1979 at 6th and Tyler, then eventually moved again (to 29th and Oakley) in the late 90s, where it expired.  Mr. Bud Dingman was the head man, and it’s been said that most of the other people who worked there were assholes.

Rory may have some World Records stories to share, so be sure to tune in, submit your WR stories here, and join the weekly Shat Room.  Hi Bud!

  1. They may have been assholes, but they were nice assholes! (Except maybe to the man with the box on his head. [NOT “over” his head – although that would have been an improvement!])

    1. I remember that the first things I bought from Bud were 45’s, and the last things I bought from him were also 45’s. I think that is very appropriate!
By the way – Do you have any more pictures of the old store? I never really liked that Oakley store.
